Valoncio is a small edit of Mediterranean-inspired jewellery and accessories. We don't carry a thousand things. We carry the shapes that have looked good for a century and will still look good in another one.
What everything is made of
Our jewellery is ion-plated gold over 316L stainless steel — the same steel grade used in surgical instruments. Ion plating is a vacuum bonding process, not a dip: the gold layer is fused to the steel rather than sitting on top of it.
In practice that means it is waterproof. Shower in it, swim in it, work out in it, sleep in it. It will not tarnish, flake, or leave a green mark on your skin. It is nickel-free and hypoallergenic, so it suits sensitive skin.
We are specific about this because most jewellery at this price is gold-plated brass, which discolours within weeks. Ours doesn't, and that is the whole point.
How we choose
Every piece is chosen the same way: would we still want to wear this in ten years? If the answer is no, it doesn't go in. That is why the collection is small and why it changes slowly.
